Plymouth Gin

Still handmade today in the historic Black Friar's Distillery in England, Plymouth can be considered the original craft gin

The recipe- A closely guarded secret - has been passed down verbally from master Distiller to Master Distiller since they first started crafting gin in 1793.

Compared to London Gin, the Plymouth style is just a hint less dry, with more pronounced citrusy notes and earthy undertones.

Today, Plymouth Gin is the only producer of this style of Gin in the world.

Plymouth was long the official gin of the British Royal Navy tradition was that new vessels were inaugurated with two bottles of Plymouth Gin. For nearly 200 years navy ships never left port without Plymouth Gin on Board.
